Members meet at the PTDA 2009 Canadian conference

For the eighth consecutive year, the PTDA Canadian conference provided attendees once again with a learning and networking opportunity for the industry's top decision makers.

CAE to invest up to $274 million in R&D training services
Montreal, QC — CAE and the Quebec government announced on June 21st an investment of up to $274 million in a new research and development (R&D) program extending over seven years. The Quebec government will participate through a repayable investment which could reach $100 million and CAE's share of the program is $174 million. The aim is to leverage CAE's modelling, simulation and training services expertise into the promising sectors of healthcare, heavy equipment, mining and energy. Investissement Quebec will handle the funding and the follow-up for the Quebec government contribution.

InfraCanada/InfraQuebec and infrared user group conferences a big success
FLIR completed its most successful series of InfraCanada/InfraQuebec and infrared user group conferences in Oakville, Montreal and Calgary in June. The events had dedicated streams on infrared for building science applications with experts in the field from Paul Frisk of the Infrared Training Centre, Tony Colantonio from Public Works Canada, Tang Lee from the University of Calgary and Jacques Wagner of Multi-Pro Plus with a collective 100 years experience of infrared related to building science.
